I've been using Prettify Livejournal by boundary for several months now and I can't imagine going back to the old lj style. If you've ever thought the icons used in lj default pages are kind of on the ugly side, this script's for you.

And that's just the most prominent example. I can't go about making screenshots of every nook and cranny of livejournal so I suggest you try the script yourself. It's extremely easy to install--and if you don't end up liking it, you can quickly revert to using the original icons.

You know, I've been feeling a lot less down about the Libs fandom in a while and I realized why that was: I haven't been to the forums for some time now. It's been more than a year since I've last used my own journal. I've been using my account usually to comment and post in comms so it's not like I've been completely & utterly gone. Those whom I've met through the SV fandom though haven't seen hide nor hair of me for ages so...hi. *waves*

State of the Disproved, Re: Fangirl Obsessions:

i. Smallville, Splitsville. I still like reading meta and fic now and then but that fangirl-feeling has left the building. I even caught Lana scrunching her forehead at Lex on the tee-vee and miraculously, did not find myself wanting to laugh, or cry, or douse my drinking water with poison in a bid to take my present incarnation out of this cruel, cruel plane of existence in which Lexana existed. It was pretty weird.

(I'm actually kind of okay with the pairing now. It's not that I *like* them or anything--more like I don't really care enough any more to find the energy to cringe. There's even good fic out there!)

As for Clark/Lex--forever in my mind and my heart they shall remain, naked and writhing and declaring their undying love for one another.

I'm listening to The Libertines' Legs XI demo right now and I don't know whether to cry or to laugh. Both Carl and Pete sound so *young*. Pete is being adorable with his intense emoting all over the place--he sings so differently--and I'm torn between wanting to ruffle his hair and burying my face in my hands, weeping.

Carl singing France is twelve different kinds of sad, especially when one thinks of Pete alone, years later, singing the same song at the Jazz After Dark cafe but with words slightly but meaningfully changed: so I remember your eyes, that unique shade of blue while these brown eyes of mine, they stayed close. You think you know heartache now, Carl, wait a few years and the brown-eyed boy with dirty fingernails crooning and making jokes next to you ("Ladies and gentlemen, Carlos Barat with his self-penned contemporary ballad classic!") will break your heart in ways you never thought a heart could possibly break.
